Valentine's Day

Today we went to Smith & Wollensky's for lunch to celebrate Valentine's Day (courtesy of the Barros' christmas gift card!)

Graham was an angel, didn't peep once. We had a great weekend, with Uncle John coming by on Friday night to play with him.

Several FIRSTS for Graham

This weekend saw Graham's first bottle--Daddy gave it to him, along with his FIRST SNOW!
He's doing great--we still have gas issues, but we are working through it.

He goes to the doctor next Friday.

Sleepy baby

Graham has begun sleeping for a little more than 3 hours at night--for two stretches in a row. That is great for his Momma...

Of course, we think it's because he's been having bad gas during the early evening and gets himself so worked up that he is exhausted!

Uncle Joe sent a funny email....his comments in CAPITALS AND #16

YOU KNOW YOU LIVE IN 2006 WHEN................
1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.
2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.
3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.
4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.
5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.
6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if
anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries. AUNTIE BETH IS GUILTY...
7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen.
8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go back and get it. KUMAR: "FORGET IT. WE'VE GONE TOO FAR.”
10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee.
11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile :-)
12. You're reading this, nodding and laughing.
13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.
14. You are too busy to notice there was no ..9 on this list.
15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a ..9 on this list.
16. YOUR 20-DAY OLD NEPHEW HAS A BLOG SITE...

Graham visited Gemini today!

Graham and I went to Gemini today to show off how cute he is. He was a perfect angel on the Subway--and then CRIED the entire time my boss and I were on a conference call with a client. It was pretty funny because Graham in general does not cry! It's like he was showing off! Of course, it was OK with the client because his wife is due in a few weeks--but it was pretty funny!

Another bath tonite and his hair is SO FUZZY--pictures can NOT capture how cute it is. Tonite, we again try sleeping in the bedroom--we'll see how it goes!

Clean Fuzzy Hair!

Graham's First Bath

Graham was given the A-OK by his doctor yesterday to have his first bath. He was a VERY good boy and didn't cry at all. Now he is all clean and happy.

His hair is REALLY fuzzy right after it gets wet. It is really cute!

Big Saturday for Graham-shopping and a Bath!

We went to the grocery store today, the vegetable market and we had dinner at McCormick & Schmicks. He was a good boy for all of them!

Graham went to a restaurant tonite!

Graham was Baby McDreamy tonite at MONT BLANC, where we had dinner. He slept in his sling the entire time!!

This is the 2nd time he has been to a restaurant--the first was last week when we had speed-dinner at The Olive Garden.

As a side note: kudos to New Yorkers, who have successfully boycotted and thus closed the BENNIGAN's located 1 block from our place. Open for less than 6 months, Ern and I couldn't understand why they opened the location in the first place--this town has more than 10,000 ORIGINAL restaurants--no less a chain!!

Graham has gained 15 oz. in 11 days!

Graham just returned from the Doctor and his weight is now at 6 pounds 15 ounces and 19 1/4 inches. He is doing REALLY well and is as healthy as can be.

I couldn't be any happier!

Graham's First Blog

Graham Sebastian Arteta

5 pounds, 15 ounces
18 1/2 inches long

Graham is now 16 days old and has fully installed himself as the primary decision-maker in the Arteta household! Life revolves around him, and Ern and I are thoroughly smitten.

We go to the doctor again today to ensure he is gaining weight, and to see how his umbilical cord and circ are healing.

We've had LOTS of visitors. Grandma made it to NYC on the day of his arrival (January 18) and Poppa came to see him on Saturday when he was 3 days old. My grammar school friend Marissa was also in NYC and came to see him too.

Auntie Nettie showed up when he was 6 days old and really whipped the apartment into shape. Then, on his 10th day of life, Abuela and Tio Jorge came to see his beautiful self. And finally, my great friend Margo came to see him on his 2 week old birthday.

We have no more visitors scheduled right now, though John Calhoon is itching to come by!
